Operating Lease

The operating lease is ideal for operators who require a helicopter for a fixed-term contract or want to test a new business concept.

The operating lease enables the operator to access the helicopter for a defined period with minimal upfront expenditure. The operator avoids the risk and complication of finding long-term sustained work for the helicopter or selling the helicopter after the initial period.

A lease period to suit your requirement

3-10 years
The lease period is often aligned with the term of a contract awarded to the operator (usually 3 to 10 years).

Tailored payment options for you

Operating leases generally require a fixed monthly rental payment, however in certain circumstances helicopters are offered for an hourly rate.

Maintaining helicopter value

In addition to the rental payment, an operating lease will require a payment per flight hour to cover the value of the components used by the operators. This can be structured as a maintenance reserve, an end-of-lease “betterment / detriment” or a third party “PBH” maintenance support program. A combination of these may be the best solution.
